Do Special Education Students Really Need to Have Grades?

If you click on the above link, you will find a post on a blog that talks about his/her opinions on whether or not Special Education students should be graded.

To be honest, until I read that post, I didn’t think much of it. S/He brings up some great points. I personally don’t think that they should be graded. Like it was said in the post, it’s just duplicating work that sometimes doesn’t even correlate.

The only reason why I think special ed. students might need grades is because every student needs a GPA to determine graduation. Are there any other ways we could accommodate with this particular problem?
